In the midst of rapidly advancing globalization, National Taiwan University and Kyoto University has agreed to organize the joint international symposium; “National Taiwan University and Kyoto University Symposium 2013” during 19 – 20 December 2013, in Taiwan for ensuring our competitiveness in the international arena through emphasizing a collaborative approach. The symposium brings together internationally respected researchers from both institutions, and aims, through its varied sessions, speeches, and workshops, to promote the advancement of scholarship in the natural and social sciences.
The objective of the symposium are (1) creating and providing opportunities for our faculty and staff to promote international research collaboration, and (2) disseminating our advanced and diversified research activities to raise the university’s international profile.
The parallel session is composed of 8 academic research fields such as Science & Technology, Agriculture, Biology, Medicine, Humanities, Social Science, Museum, and Industrial Academic Cooperation Forum. Kyoto University International Program for promoting student exchanges is also presented. The detailed scope of each session is following.

•Humanities (Culture and Education, Philosophy in East Asia, Japanese letter and language)
•Social Science (Economics and Management, Sociology)
•Museum (Role Orientations of University Museum, The Academic Value of University Museum Collection, Digital Archive and Academic Network of University Museums, and Next Generation of University Museums)
